Article components

The article components feature allows you to specify re-usable article headers and footers that you can select for each article you create. This feature can be a real time-saver for users who create many articles that have identical content at the top or bottom of the article.

Lore automatically creates a basic "Article Components" category during installation. This is just an unpublished category that you can change via "Edit Settings", under "Misc". Whatever you set it to, it should remain unpublished since the category should only contain partial content that would not be displayed in your knowledge base.

Creating Article Components

To create an article component, simply add an article as usual and place it in the "Article Components" (or whichever category you specified to hold components). Since the article component category is not (or should not) be published, the articles won't be displayed in your knowledge base.

Using Article Components

When you create an article, a drop down menus will allow you to select an article header and/or footer. This list of articles is automatically selected from the article component category that is specified in the program settings. You can modify this setting under "Article Component Category" in the "Misc" options.

When you specify an article header or footer, the content you select will automatically be displayed atthe top or bottom, respectively, when it is viewed.

Keep in mind that the article header/footer will not show up in the article preview in the article listing and is not searchable since many articles may use the same content.
